How can I get a safe deposit box?

You can easily schedule a visit with a branch. Book it at a location that's convenient for you, since the safe deposit box cannot be moved. See also: How can I schedule an appointment at a U.S. Bank branch?

You can edit, cancel or reschedule your appointment anytime from the confirmation screen and confirmation email as well.

How can I find a notary service?

To use our notary services, you'll need to Make an appointment with the branch of your choice. Be sure to bring acceptable ID as required by your state along with all pages of the document being notarized.

How can I check my credit score for free?

We know staying informed about your credit score and what’s on your credit report are important. Both your credit score and TransUnion credit report are available for free in your digital banking.

To check your credit score and credit report using digital banking

Online banking users: Select Plan & track at the top of the page, then choose Credit score.

Mobile app users: From the main menu select Help & services. Choose View credit score from the list. If you don’t see it, choose Show all in the upper right.

To view your full TransUnion credit report: Select Learn more about credit scores to access your CreditView dashboard and then choose Credit Report at the top.

How do I schedule an appointment at a U.S. Bank branch?

Schedule an appointment whenever you need to see us. There’re a few ways you can do this:

To schedule an appointment using digital banking

  1. Online banking: Select Need help? at the top of the page, then choose Make an appointment.
    Mobile banking: Open the main menu, select Help & services, scroll down and choose Make an appointment.
  2. Choose whether to Make a personal appointment or Make a business appointment.
  3. Select a service to meet about.
  4. Choose a meeting method.
  5. Select your meeting details.
  6. Enter the following details, then select Book appointment .

Do I need an appointment to meet with a banker at a branch?

Some of our locations require appointments. Even for those that don't, we encourage you to schedule one. Making an appointment lets you avoid potentially long wait times and allows our bankers to serve you better. See, How do I schedule an appointment at a U.S. Bank branch?

Can I meet with a banker by phone?

Absolutely. You can easily schedule an appointment to meet by phone, video or in person. We offer personal and business banking appointments. You'll need some very basic location information to schedule your appointment. Once you're online, you'll see that we offer many services to fit your banking needs.

Can I make a same-day appointment at a branch?

Sometimes a branch can accept same-day appointments, determination is based on availability. Call your local branch and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Find a branch in your area .

How do I specify the topic for my appointment and how much time should I allow?

Your time is valuable, and we want to respect that. When scheduling your appointment time and topic, we'll provide a list of services and the estimated duration. For example, if you choose to meet with a banker on the topic of opening a checking or savings account, expect the appointment to take approximately one hour. Overall appointment times range from 30 minutes to one hour, dependent on your banking needs.

If you don't see your topic or you're not sure which to choose, simply select: Learn more about other products or services. A banker will call to confirm your appointment and learn more about why you'd like to meet.

How do I schedule a branch appointment with a specific banker?

We offer the option to request a specific banker when scheduling an appointment. We'll do our best to accommodate; however, if that person isn't available, you may be scheduled with another banker.

Please keep your confirmation email so you can reschedule or cancel, if needed. If you're a Wealth Management customer, contact your Wealth Management banker directly to schedule an appointment.

How to schedule a branch appointment using online banking

You must be logged into your account at usbank.com.

    1. Select how you'd like to meet.
    2. Choose whether you'd like to visit us about Personal banking or Business banking.
    3. Select a service from the list. If you don't see your topic or you're not sure which one to choose, select, "Learn more about other products and services". A banker will call to confirm your appointment and learn more about why you'd like to meet.

    How to schedule a branch appointment using the U.S. Bank Mobile App

    1. Open the main menu in the upper-left corner, select Help & services, then choose Make an appointment.
    2. Tell us a little bit about why you'd like to see us.
      1. Select how you'd like to meet.
      2. Select whether you'd like to visit us about Personal banking or Business banking.
      3. Select a service from the provided list. If you don't see your topic or you're not sure which to choose, select, "Learn more about other products and services". A banker will call to confirm your appointment and learn more about why you'd like to meet.
      • Select "Add attendee (optional)" if you'd like another person to receive notice of the appointment.
      • You can share details that might be helpful for the banker to know. Don't include sensitive personal information like Social Security numbers, account numbers, etc.

      Do I have to be a customer to schedule a branch appointment?

      No. You don’t have to be a customer to meet with us. When you schedule an appointment with us, we'll ask for your contact information to reach you.

      Please bring proof of your identity. This can be a valid driver’s license, state-issued photo ID, or a valid passport.

      How will I know my branch appointment is confirmed?

      When you complete the booking process for a branch appointment, you'll see a confirmation page with all the details. We'll also send you a follow-up email and/or text with those same details.

      How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment at the branch?

      You can cancel or reschedule your appointment by selecting the link included in the confirmation email. The email or text message we send with the details of your appointment such as location, time, date, etc. The banker will automatically be notified of the cancellation or reschedule.

      1. At the bottom of your confirmation email, select Cancel booking or Reschedule.
      2. Select Cancel booking, then Cancel booking once more to confirm.
      3. Select Reschedule, then select the next available date and time that works for you, then select Confirm.

      The option to cancel or reschedule your appointment is only available through the confirmation sent via email or text. This option is not available through online or mobile banking.

      What should I bring to my appointment at the branch?

      We value your time and want to ensure your information is kept safe. When you go to your appointment with the banker, please bring proof of your identity. This can be a valid driver’s license, state-issued photo ID, or a valid passport.

      Other requirements depend on the purpose of the appointment.

      • New account: If you’re opening a deposit or secured account, bring cash or a check to fund it. If more than one person will be listed as a signer/owner on the account, they’ll need to come to the appointment as well.
      • Loan application: If you’re applying for a loan, we may need you to provide some documents. The banker will be in touch before the appointment to explain what you'll need to bring.
      • Existing account: If you have questions about your existing account, bring any documents you’d like to refer to during the appointment.

      Please be aware, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face coverings may be required at some U.S. Bank locations.
